The post Valentine’s haze has given me time to contemplate the harsh realities of the Sluggo+Nancy relationship. We all know Sluggo loves Nancy and also that Sluggo takes time out of his Nancy love to enjoy what he perceives as the finer things in life (namely, other girls, the cad!). What makes the bumpy road that is Slancy seem less retrospectively troubling then say, the Miss Piggy+Kermit relationship*, is that both Nancy and Sluggo are easily swayed. Sluggo loves all the pretty girls, but Nancy loves all the handsome boys too, and not out of some deep seated resentment towards her philandering buddy.
Nancy and Sluggo are free to explore other cuties during their very long engagement, as long as they come back home (to their separate homes. I mean, they’re like 8 years old).
*Seriously, remember on the muppet show? Everytime there was a male guest Miss Piggy would engage in a disturbing mission of sexual intimidation, and everytime where was a female guest Miss Piggy accused Kermit of cheating and did that HIII-YAH! karate chop. It was very unhealthy.
